Housing Specialist/Case Manager - (2008-71)

GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: Provides case management/brokerage services with McKinney Vento and other supportive housing residents to access medical, educational, social, prevocational, vocational, rehabilitative or other needed community services for eligible individuals. Contacts and collaborates with specific community agency personnel who provide other case management or treatment services for the residents of housing resources. Advocates for residents when their tenancy is in jeopardy. Provides housing services information to residents of the facility. Searches for qualified housing for tenants, inspects housing and arranges for required approvals for use of the property, assists tenants in addressing rental eligibility and in acquiring furnishing and utilities, etc. This is a temporary, 20 hours per week position.

Program Supervisor - (2008-88)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Family Specialist works with underserved Vietnamese parents with school-aged children living in the Franklin-McKinley School District attendance area who are enrolled in the Successful Parents Program (SPP) to increase parents’ knowledge and practice of positive parenting behaviors and to improve family functioning. By addressing core family needs of safety/stability, wellness, and self-sufficiency, the Family Specialist supports parents in reducing stress and problems that might lead to child abuse or neglect. The Family Specialist works with the Parenting Workshop Coordinator to co-facilitate parenting classes and to provide case management and home visitation services to eligible Vietnamese families.

 



Parenting Workshop Program Supervisor - (2008-87)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Parenting Workshop Supervisor facilitates Catholic Charities’ Successful Parents Program (SPP) and conducts parenting workshops for underserved Vietnamese families with school-aged children residing in the Franklin-McKinley School District attendance area to increase parents’ knowledge and practice of positive parenting behaviors and to improve family functioning. The Supervisor works in close conjunction with the Family Specialist and also supervises all part-time Child Care personnel providing quality care and learning experiences for children of various abilities in mixed age groupings while their parents are attending SPP classes.

CORAL After-School Instructor

 

General Function:

 

Under the direct supervision of a Site Manager, the CORAL After-School Instructor (CASI) will be responsible for the supervision and safety of approximately 20 school age children.  Within a small group setting the After School Instructor will help develop and carry out lesson plans, and work to raise academic achievement within a balanced literacy model.

The goal of CORAL San Jose is to improve academic achievement in an after-school setting. CORAL San Jose serves nine schools. Although slightly different at each site, CORAL improves achievement through a combination of balanced literacy and project-based learning activities; all linked to classroom curricula and California State Standards. CORAL seeks to strengthen children’s foundation of basic skills, while providing them with a rich and high quality enrichment curriculum.

 

Salary Range: DOE 8-10 hours per week

General Function

Under the direct supervision of the CORAL Director of Curriculum, the CORAL Literacy Coach will ensure the effective implementation of the YET balanced literacy model at the school site. The CORAL Literacy Coach will support after school instructors through mentoring, coaching, modeling lessons, observing instruction and offering constructive feedback.
