Description and Services:

The FIRST 5 Program supports the healthy development of children ages 0-5 years old and enriches the lives of their families and communities. Catholic Charities collaborates with FIRST 5 of Santa Clara County and Choices for Children to partner with families who have children 0-5 years old, supporting them as they attain their self-identified long- and short-term goals, and helping them to connect with appropriate local services. Services include:

  • Parent Workshops
  • A Family Partner for each participating family, who helps parents and their young children meet their own unique needs.
  • Community Engagement & Education program that connects all qualifying families to community resources such as health insurance, parent workshops, and access to early learning opportunities and much more.
  • Family Resource Centers are safe and easily accessible places where families can connect with local resources and learn about upcoming family events. The resource centers are equipped with a computer for parents and 2 Little Tikes computers for children to use. A reading nook, art activities, and other educational toys and activities are also used to promote play and healthy brain development.
